Who we are

Acton Education Services (“AES”, “we”, “us”) is the data controller for the personal data we collect through this website. AES is a sole-trader business operating in the United Kingdom.

For any data-protection question, contact stuart@actoneducation.co.uk .

What we collect, and why

The only personal data we actively collect through this website is your email address, and only when you choose to submit it via the SEND White Paper lead magnet form (or any other future signup form).

We use that email to:

  • Send you the resource you requested.
  • Send occasional related updates — no more than once a month — about AES tools, evidence-informed practice, and the wider SEND policy landscape.

Our lawful basis for processing is your consent (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(a)), which you give by submitting the form. You can withdraw consent at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email we send, or by emailing us directly.

Where your data is stored

Subscriber email addresses are stored by our email service provider, MailerLite (MailerLite Limited, Vilnius, Lithuania). MailerLite is GDPR-compliant and acts as a data processor on our behalf. Their privacy policy is available at mailerlite.com/legal/privacy-policy.

The website itself is hosted on Vercel (Vercel Inc., USA). Vercel handles request routing and serves static pages; it does not see your form submissions, which go directly from your browser to MailerLite.

How long we keep it

We retain your email address until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. Inactive subscribers (no opens or clicks for 12+ months) may be removed periodically to maintain list health.

Cookies and tracking

This site uses no third-party advertising cookies, no behavioural tracking, and no analytics scripts that profile individual visitors. [REVIEW: update this section if you add analytics — e.g. Vercel Analytics, Plausible, or GA4 — before launch.]

Essential cookies may be set by our hosting provider for security and load-balancing purposes; these do not identify you.

Your rights under UK GDPR

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Request deletion (the “right to be forgotten”).
  • Restrict or object to processing.
  • Request a portable copy of your data.
  • Withdraw consent at any time.

To exercise any of these rights, email stuart@actoneducation.co.uk. We’ll respond within one calendar month.

If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your data, you have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.

Children’s data

This site is aimed at school leaders, teachers, and education professionals. We don’t knowingly collect personal data from anyone under the age of 16. If you believe a child has submitted data here, please contact us and we’ll delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the business evolves — for example if we add analytics, change processors, or launch new tools. We’ll update the “Last updated” date at the top whenever we change anything substantive.
